Design of Educational Videos for the Study Programme English in Electrical Engineering and Informatics
Používání videí stimuluje kognitivní procesy myšlení, uvažování, řešení problémů, rozhodování a tvoření. Videa přenesou studenta nad rámec aktivit souvisejících s vybavováním si probrané látky a vytvářením souvislostí. Praktická část představuje proces tvorby vzdělávacích videomateriálů a zaměřuje se na tvorbu sérií edukačních videí pro vybrané elektrotechnické a informatické předměty vyučované v angličtině.
Biometric testing in the study of cognitive load in the ArcGIS StoryMaps environment
BLAŽEK, Vojtěch
The main focus of the present dissertation is a detailed analysis of how students interact with the ArcGIS StoryMaps web mapping application using biometric testing methods. The choice of this topic is related to the development and greater involvement of digital technologies in education, which was accelerated by the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic. The impact of digital technologies on contemporary society has caused a new industrial revolution 4.0, where most work processes are becoming automated, and computer controlled. This trend is reflected in curriculum reforms around the world. A common feature of curriculum reforms is the introduction of digital competencies and a change in the way we view the teaching of computer science. These changes transfer some of the requirements in the area of digital competences to other subjects, including geography. The introductory theoretical part of the thesis is devoted to the transformation of curriculum documents and the development of GIS, including its relation to geographic education in the perspective of the 21st century. An integral part is a summary of the existing knowledge in the field of cognitive load, including the possibilities of its measurement. The analytical part of the thesis focuses on the evaluation of data measured by the Gazepoint system.
Mining physiological data for automated educational feedback
Bašátková, Kateřina ; Lustigová, Zdena (advisor) ; Rotter, Miloš (referee)
1 Title: Mining Physiological Data for Automated Educational Feedback Author: Bc. Kateřina Bašátková Department: Department of Physics Education Supervisor: doc. RNDr. Zdena Lustigová, CSc., Department of Physics Education Abstract: This thesis deals with mining physiological data for automated educational feedback. The first part summarizes former researches of physiological data and its assertation into human behaviour. Special attention is devoted especially to eye tracking and measuring heart rate during behavioral processes. The second part is dedicated to author's own research how blink rate and heart rate are influenced by the degree of cognitive load. The research was executed on six subjects. The obtained data confirm correlation of blink rate and heart rate with the difficulty of the task. Keywords: heart rate, heart rate variability, blink rate, cognitive load
Reception and processing of visual information in traffic
Černochová, Dana ; Rymešová, Pavla (referee)
Reception and processing of visual information in traffic Mgr. Dana Černochová Abstract The theoretical part of this work deals with the visual perception of the driver. Special attention is paid to the perception of visual information in the whole range of the field of view. From psychological point of view, the term functional field of view is important, the construct taking into account not only perception, but also the attention. Its size depends on the amount of information which have to be processed at any given moment. Foreign literature uses the term "Useful field of view" under the abbreviation UFOV, german literature uses the term "nutzbares Sehfeld" under the abbreviation NSF. The experimental part of the work focuses on evaluating the changes of the visual perception in the range of the visual field in relation to age. For this the SET of 1361 people in age group from 18 to 90 years. In further subchapters the experiment is described where the secondary task was used as variable in order to find out whether the increased cognitive load affects the range of the useful field of view. For this experiment, the set of 645 people of age 18-90 years was used. The parameters of the visual perception in the situations with and without added secondary task were also monitored for the relationship to the...
: Kilian Seeber and his Contribution to the Development of
Baštanová, Petra ; Čeňková, Ivana (advisor) ; Šteffl, Jana (referee)
This MA thesis is a descriptive theoretical study dealing with the work of the conference interpreter, teacher and researcher Kilian Seeber. The thesis explores individual fields of interest of Kilian Seeber and the results of his research. It describes mainly the cognitive load in simultaneous interpreting, prosody and intonation, but also ethical decisions in simultaneous interpreting and issues connected with training of trainers. Furthermore, the thesis presents Seeber's teaching and interpreting projects and, last but not least, the reaction to his work and its reception in the international interpreting community. Key words: Kilian Seeber, cognitive load, eye tracking experiment, pupillometry, prosody, intonation, ethical decisions, simultaneous interpreting, blended learning.
